Description
Designed by Swiss innovator Willy Guhl circa 1960, this red bench is one of few left in the world to relish as part of his legacy to garden art and furniture. Picked up in France and shipped to California, the nearly antique aged bench is constructed from steel tubing framed as leg support and reinforced fiberglass for the seat and back rest. Guhl, known for his creative minimalist design technique and ideas that would eventually be used by a huge Swiss furniture retailer, designed this bench in the same era as when he came up with his award winning ribbon chair. These benches having been extremely popular in Europe and?their value continues to rise, they have found homes mostly with collectors of antique garden art and furniture.
