Description
This Italian garden table with yellow patina has seen much use over the years, evident in the worn table top exposing the natural rust of aged iron. Crafted circa 1900, when Italian design was already recognized as force majeure, but in some aspects still influenced by French design. This table encapsulates that time period as seen in the combination of the fluted decorative knee, with the creative use of iron rods for base strength/ leg separation while holding two curved bars for center support of the table top. This is a rare antique table is a relic of an era for Italy, almost 50 years after the Italian Industrial revolution, and on the cusp of becoming a symbol of elegance and sophistication on the world stage.
