Description
The castle of Mouchy in the mid 19th century was undergoing restoration and new construction, an endeavor inspired by the history of the prestigious Noailles family from the renaissance to 1855 when this project began. No longer standing, the Chateau De Mouchy has left us with few relics as keepsakes for the history of a once grand castle in northern France. This sculpted stone column is one of these items, leftover from the restoration of the 1850s. A truly impressive column, sculpted with a growing flower motif, it serves as a visually striking pedestal for other antique planters of the same era, or simply as a piece of historic sculpted art for your home or garden.
